Filed under things I've found on the ground, Travels

Jack Ford.

Quite often when traveling alone on flights I retain a quiet and pleasant demeanor- keeping to myself, generally, to avoid a potentially painful dicussion about retail sales figures at Canadian Tire stores in Saskatchewan, UFC, or some other comparable conversational hell.

There’s always an exception to those instances. Jack Ford was one of those instances.

Jack was well versed, polite. Worldly and experienced people always drop gems of advice, as did Jack in our brief encounter. He spoke of his extensive time flying in the Canadian Navy, and how he started painting at the time of retirement, and how his brother was artistically inclined as well (as an award winning photographer). He said that the regret of things not done outweigh the regret of misadventure.

“If there is something you want to do in life, just fucking do it.”
- Jack Ford

Thanks, Jack. Note taken.
